Introduction to trauma informed practice
What this course covers:
Introduction to Trauma Informed Practice will assist participants to understand what happens biologically and psychologically when human’s are affected by trauma. Drawing on neuroscience and psychology, participants will gain an insight that they can use to view their work through a “trauma informed lens”, and to understand thee impact on their own wellbeing. Please note, this course does not train you to treat or diagnose trauma.

Drawing on Motivational Interviewing, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and change theory, you will develop skills that help to overcome resistance, build a picture of success, and navigate relapse.

Managing stress and wellbeing
What this course covers:
This course supports staff to recognise signs and sysptoms of stress, and to develop skills for managing them. Whilever we are not working on our wellness, we are working on our illness. As well as understanding what happens in our minds and bodies as a result of stress, the course covers emotional wellbeing and strategies for supporting others.

Strength based practice
What this course covers:
Humans have a negativity bias and it is all too easy to get stuck in the problem to fix, instead of cultivating the creativity to build on people’s strengths, which evidnce tells us is much more successful in eliciting changed behaviours. Participants are supported to slow their thinking and develop new thinking strategies that increase motivation for change. Everyone has transferable skills, this course helps participants to notice them and build on them.
